JOB MISSION

We are looking for a lawyer to join our Group legal team in a role focused on finance, treasury and transactions.

This role would suit someone who genuinely likes numbers, enjoys working closely with finance colleagues, and is interested in the legal side of funding, capital, restructuring and M&A.

A significant part of the role will involve supporting the Finance team on funding arrangements, note and bond issuances, subordinated loans, treasury matters, capital increases, and capital calculations and requirements. You will also be involved in group restructuring projects and M&A transactions across multiple jurisdictions.

OUTCOMES

Support the Finance team on legal matters relating to:

• funding arrangements, including bonds, notes and funding via investment platforms
• subordinated loans
• treasury and intra-group financing matters
• capital increases
• capital calculations and capital requirements

• Assist with group restructuring projects, internal reorganisations and legal entity changes across the Group
• Support M&A transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and post-transaction implementation
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements and related legal documentation
• Prepare and review board, shareholder and other corporate governance documents
• Work closely with colleagues across Legal, Finance, Tax and management, as well as with external advisers in different countries
• Help ensure that projects are implemented in a legally sound, practical and commercially sensible way
• Provide clear, business-oriented advice on finance and transaction-related matters

REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified lawyer with a Master’s degree in Law
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience
• Excellent Latvian and English skills required, as work involves communication with colleagues from different countries
• Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills
• A genuine interest in finance, corporate structuring and transactions
• Comfort working with numbers and financial concepts
• A practical mindset and the ability to work well with business teams
• Ability to manage multiple matters at once and work across different jurisdictions

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience in an international regulated financial institution, investment company or reputable law, particularly involving financing-related matters
• Experience working closely with finance teams or supporting treasury, capital or transaction projects
• Additional finance-related studies or certifications, such as:
• CFA Investment Foundations
• CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
• ACCA Foundations
• IFRS Certificate
• ICAEW finance programmes
