JOB MISSION

We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support our Group Fraud Prevention and Data Science teams. As a Fraud Prevention Data Scientist, your mission will be to develop and implement data-driven strategies to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraudulent activities within the organization. We look for a new energetic professional eager to learn and apply a variety of data exploratory analysis methods in R and later build and implement predictive models. The prospective candidate should be open-minded and a quick learner, eager to conquer the world of data. Your goal will be working close with Group Fraud Prevention team to protect the organization from financial losses and reputational damages caused by fraudulent activities.

OUTCOMES

• Work closely with the Group Fraud Prevention team and under supervision from Senior team members to identify opportunities, execute analytical experiments and agree on tasks to be solved
• Do exploratory data analysis, deliver predictive insights, and suggest new fraud prevention strategies
• Develop new predictive models in fraud prevention, customer identification and customer acquisition
• Continuously learn Data science techniques and gain new experience in the field of Fraud prevention/Risk underwriting

REQUIREMENTS

• BSc degree in mathematics/computer science, physics, computational finance, or a related quantitative field, might be last year’s student
• Passion for data analysis, optimization, and strong analytical ability
• Knowledge of SQL
• Basic knowledge of R or Python
• Experience visualizing/presenting data
• Ability to learn fast and a problem-solving mindset
• Excellent Latvian and English skills required, as work involves communication with colleagues from different countries

As advantage

• Experience in Fintech or similar field
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests etc.)
• Working experience with large data sets and exposure to big data challenges
